The 1985 Chicago Bears were legends in their own mind. Personally, I know a secret about them that no one else will ever figure out. They played football. American Football. But also their best player was known as a player named Slappy McCracken. Actually, it wasn't. I just remember that name from NES Forums for some fucking reason. Maybe it wasn't NES Forums. I remember it somewhere, but nonetheless, it was a name. It also probably existed n some figment for my mind. Thats all right if you think about because in my mind a lot of screwed up things happened. My favorite is when I went back in time and claimed the Pope was really Bob Saget. Now if you are a good Catholic (not me) you would know that the pope was CLEARLY not Bob Saget, but it happened. Anyways getting back to the topic, a star can not exist without a cast. A cast can not exist without a star. Therefore its a big problem. Over the 55, maybe 60 years of TV there have only been a few casts that have merged the star power and the greatness of the cast. Without saying, I'm saying the greatest TV season ever was Meet the Press, 1995-1996 season. The reasoning behind this is quite simple. America was just getting over the wacky early 90s, which according to a VH1 special about how wacky the early 90s was, just involved a lot of bad rap acts. One of these went on about how we should Fuck the Police. Now if I'm not mistaken, and If i am you can slap me silly with a giant carp, i think this group went on to become very successful, if not popular. Anyways, this became the way for el caca america is in today. Todays children have no respect for the police. It shows, because today when a cop asks you a question, it just make a lot of pig noises. Now, sure you might think that is incredibly rude, but I think its quite funny. That is until they spray me with the mace and lock me up for "disturbing the peace" my ass. I SWEAR THAT STRIPPER WAS ON THE HOOD OF MY CAR TO BEGIN WITH. Ahem. Sorry about that, anyways back to the subject at hand which brings me to a very valid point. ALL anime movies are about owning creatures and fighting over spherical objects. Not long ago, I was watching the Emmys and was stunned to find that the Academy of Motion Picture and Television Arts placed an Animation category in the prime-time event. (I only watched the show because I heard that WWF stars would be on -- and they were, how cool is that?) I suppose it is a good thing that animation is being recognized for its place in our culture. Do not underestimate the influence of animation in American society. Most of us grew up watching Bugs Bunny, Woody Woodpecker, and the Superfriends. And I'd say it's a good bet that you can sooner describe an episode involving them. But, for the most part, our society refuses to recognize the importance of animation, beyond the profit margins of Disney films since the theatrical release of the Little Mermaid. But one can understand culture and changes in our society from animation images. Consider the 1940s Looney Tunes animation was geared toward the war effort and introduced German phrases into our vocabulary. After the war, Bugs Bunny stepped into Hollywood, with many parodies Which brings me to my final point. Al Gore may be god. I think I have proof. It may shock some people, but I think the core of the evidence has to be the state of Tennessee not liking him. Which is funny, because he was from Tennessee. Notice this. Jesus was from the Roman Empire. Yet the Roman Empirions DID NOT LIKE HIM. Notice the similarities? I sure do. I hope I gave you something to think about. |
