What's your gaming bucket list? Specifically games you never got around to playing for whatever reason a while back and wish you had. Most of these things I just simply will never have the time for so I'd give the top few spots extra priority. No rEgReTs

10. Castlevania portrait of ruin
9. Jet set radio future
8. New super Mario bros
7. F zero 64
6. Final fantasy adventure (the secret of mana prequel)
5. Any silent hill after part 1
4. The Yoshi's island sequels
3. Soul blazer
2. Any of the "new" Sam and max games
1. Shenmue 2

calgone all i can say is for ffa you are certainly missing out on an incredible game. also there is a supposed remake on the GBA that ups the graphics quite a bit. but stick to the original its amazing and well worth playing.

ruudos i've played everything on your list over the years. its a real shock to see you list all those gems on a list you never had time to sink in. but theres a bajillion games out there so im sure there are quite a few games i'd like to play but will never have time for.

When we purged our game collection, I made it a point to, for the most part, keep games we would play. Sure, I kept a whole ton of NES and Genesis flotsam simply for the full set, but we otherwise dropped a lot of games we had just to collect. Point being, my gaming bucket list is pretty big. In no specific order...

- The Assassin's Creed series: I have every title but the latest one... in their limited edition forms. I am a retard collector and was into limited editions (and LE clearances made it so appealing) so the Assassin Creed ones came pretty easily. At some point, I really should play them

- Etrian Odyssey series: I have every game, again and only tried the first one. This was before I got used to rogue-likes so I dropped it like a rock. But you know, probably should play through at least one of the seven games.

- Shin Megami Tensei IV: Been mildly interested in the series, so I picked up IV for the DS. Supposedly it's the most accessible.

- Kid Icarus Uprising: Every time I think about having to use that stand, my gaming anus puckers. Someday.

- Fire Emblem: Either one of the GBA games or Awakening on the 3DS. Also have the Fates LE too but at this point, that's obnoxious collectorism than actual intent to play. I have never been big on strategy RPGs but everyone raves about it so...

- Dark Cloud 2: Loved the first one, even though when I picked the first one up recently, I realize I must have been game starved on the PS2 when I got it, because my god, is the combat system awkward. Should still play 2 which everyone says is the better one anyway.

- Lunar Eternal Blue: Finally got around to getting the Sega CD version 2 years ago... and then proceeded to replay Silver Star again and just stopped there when I finished SS. Considering I loved SS growing up and highly enjoyed replaying it, EB is a big bucket list title for me.

- Snatcher: I've only had it for 15 years. Worst part is... I loaded the UNFINISHED VIRTUAL BOY PORT on my VB flash cart and played that for the hour of gameplay they crammed in there. But no, no actual Sega CD version play yet.

- A Whole Ton of GBA/DS Titles: We had 600 DS titles when we purged, yet still kept 300. GBA is not that bad but we kept most of the games. So many unique titles in there that I would love to give them a shot at some point. A lot of graphic adventure and/or RPGs and/or cop/detective games in the mix.

- Ratchet & Clank & Shadow Hearts Series: See also, Assassin's Creed series, Etrian Odyssey series.

- Translated Famicom Games: It wasn't until NESforums that I got off my ass and loaded the translated roms on here. Moon Crystal, Lagrange Point, Esper Dream, Just Breed. Of all the games on this list, these are really the top priorities. NES games in general have been a lot more inviting to me recently because I can just sit down and play. Meanwhile, my PS3 backlog is painful because it's sit down, patch OS, patch game, stupid cutscenes, tutorial, game.

- Castlevania Symphony of the Night: Yeah. And I loved all of the GBA/DS knock off CVs too. I just missed the boat when it was released.

- Any console Zelda after Majora's Mask: Never even finished Wind Waker.

- Zelda Oracle Seasons/Ages: Loved Link's Awakening and Minish Cap... so what am I waiting for?

- Condemned Criminal Origins 2: The first one is actually kinda good and the second is supposedly supposed to improve everything about the first.

- Super Mario RPG & Secret of Evermore: Got these when I first started collecting and just never bothered. Bonus points: I have a Secret of Mana 2 repro that I also haven't touched and love SoM1.

- Knights of the Old Republic 1&2. Another exclusion(s). Insult to injury: I did play Toe Jam & Earl 3 years ago, which was a horrendous use of my time, yet Kotrs sit there.

- Dragon Warrior 7&8: Another case of everyone loves them and I own them and there they sit.

- Gears of War series: The outlook for these three isn't looking good considering the cover shooter genre is officially starting to piss me off.

- Metroid Prime 2&3: I adored the first but I never even started 2 or 3.

One game series I am happy to say I finally crossed off the list was the GB MM games. I finally got all 5 (even if 5 was not cheap) but it was worth playing them. And my god, 5 is no joke almost as good as 2-4 on the NES.

Soulblazer is a good time, but replaying it recently, it is very much a Zelda clone. While the existential story is unique, it's actually kind of a blah game (even though I still like it very much despit this).

Ratix is talking about Sword of Mana for GBA. Agreed with him - skip it and play FFA on the GB. Can devs stop adding story where there was none before? Honestly, I tried playing Sword of Mana recently and I fell asleep because the game couldn't get on with it.

WARNING: Only ONLY play NSMB on the DS. Any other one is not worth your time and is way overdone.

I just recently played Drac X on the PSP (on CV X Chronicles) and let me tell you, it is a delicious gaming experience. Make that one of your top priorities along with FF6.

Sword of Mana (the FFA remake on GBA) is a solid, underrated title. I enjoy it a lot, and have played through it a few times... it's a beautiful game visually and musically.

Ruud's issue may be that the games aren't available officially in the Netherlands. Just a guess though.

Port, play Snatcher. Granted this is coming from someone who had more patience and free time when I first experienced it. Two big barriers to entry are the tedium at scrolling through menus and "investigating" everything, even multiple times. The second is it's simply just not a game you can play in small bursts. It really demands a block of time.

With that said, it's one of the most immersive, engrossing experiences I've ever had with a video game. A lot of that could have been due to my age at the time, but fuck, the music, the characters, the environment are really something special. Would be iN mY tOp TeN oF AlL TiMeEeee

Sometimes I just fire up the intro video on youtube and fuckin' rock out.

I did not have a problem with what I played on the VB, and keep in mind, that's while playing it on a VB, so I doubt I'll have a problem with it on the SCD. It's definitely up there on the list.

Btw, seriously, the VB port looks to be perfect to the Sega CD version. It's pretty impressive and definitely a nice what if to the VB itself.

Skyward Sword and Metroid Prime 3 are both games I want to get into someday, but the low-res of the Wii and the motion controls are keeping me wary.

Port you absolutely need to get into Symphony of the Night soon, it's so good. Easily in my top ten games ever because it's so Metroid-like.

Snatcher I thought was okay, definitely worthy to experience once as a complete playthrough, but not really something I'd revisit.

- Kid Icarus Uprising

...

- Dark Cloud 2

I own Kid Icarus Uprising, but sadly no Circle Pro Plus... which you really need, and not that fucking stand. It's good, but it doesn't play a whole lot like the original games (I'm including Myths & Monsters.) If you like Space Harrier with a blend of a standard 3D action game, you'll have a good time.

Dark Cloud 2 is better than the first, but not by much. You'll either really love or really don't care for this game.

For me:
1. Dracula X: I've tried to burn a copy onto CDR to play on my TurboDuo, but it wouldn't play music and I just can't play without those sweet tunes. Does this every time, and I really don't want to throw money on a legit copy.
2. Jackal: Apparently this game was a big deal, but because of being turned off by top-down perspective action games, I never gave it any kind of fair shot. I should probably do that.
3. The main Etrian Odyssey series: I've only played Untold, which I'm told is a reboot of an earlier game and not as fun as most other entries. I'd like to check those out whenever I have a chance, because I thought Untold was pretty damn fun, and I normally don't like dungeon crawlers. They work if you don't have to break out graphing paper.
4. Far East of Eden series: I don't think any of the PC Engine games have been fan translated yet. There is someone working on a translation of FEoE Zero, which I own but can't get further than about a couple of hours into without knowing fluent Japanese.
5. A huge shitton of Falcom games: Some of these are on Steam, I'm just finishing up a chunk of my backlog. But there's a good bit that never got an English translation, like Dinosaur (which has absolutely nothing to do with dinosaurs, that's the name of the last boss because Japan.)
6. Elder Scrolls Morrowind: Been told that, with mods, the game is better than Oblivion or Skyrim. The version I pirated doesn't support mods, so I may just have to bite the bullet and buy it legit off Steam someday.
7. Lost Odyssey: Never owned an Xbox, but I've been told this is pretty much what FFXIII SHOULD have been. I guess I'll have to either bite the bullet one of these days or hope for a good PC release.
8. any Dead Or Alive Extreme game: I know these are apparently terrible mini-game collections, I just would like to see if it's really as bad as people make them out to be. I'd import DOAX3, but it costs way too much right now for what it is.
9. Shin Megami Tensei If: This is supposedly a spiritual predecessor to the original Persona, but I don't think there's an English patch for it yet.
I'M ON DRUGS!

Newbie
Koudelka (mostly a replay, as I got rid of it in my youth and haven't been able to find an affordable copy since)
Dark Cloud 2
Silent Hill 2
Resident Evil 1 and REmake (I honestly just can't get into them even though I really love the story)
Mazes of Fate DS
Lunar 1 and 2
The Last Story (I've started it, and it's fantastic - just put it down and never got back around to it)
Final Fantasy V (same case)
Final Fanasy IX (yup)
Skyrim
Diablo 2
Mother 3

Also Sword of Mana is boring garbage and is just about as a festering pos as legend of mana, stick with FFA.

Oh yes, definitely this and Pandora's Tower. I remember finishing Xenoblade Chronicles, which was only made possible by watching my potato mode son just wiggle around and be easy mode. I was all hyped to play these two, but then my son became mobile and that went right out the window.

I have this really bad habit of getting into the last quarter, or last dungeon of a game and then just putting it off.

So far I've done it to the following games (and yes I still have the save files)

Persona 3
Tales of Abysia
Shin Megami Tensei (snes one)
Treasure of Rudras
Valkyria Chronicles

just to name a few.
