We all have a game or even a few that we played as kids and couldn't beat, and for whatever reason came back to as adults and STILL couldn't beat.

my list

Cobra Triangle (NES)
Adventure Island (NES)
Bart's Nightmare (SNES)
Virtual Bart (SNES)
Inspector Gadget (SNES)

Bart's Nightmare isn't hard as long as you have a walkthrough for the hidden temple level. I actually played a few years ago and managed to get 6 out of the 8 pages without too much trouble.

Castlevania 3 is probably the big one. Other than that off the top of my head streets of rage 3. I seem to make it to the second to last level every single time and never any further

Sexy Beast
Spider-Man and the X-Men: Arcades Revenge (SNES)

-Could probably beat this one if I actually sat down with it for a week, but who has that kind of time these days?

And this is why I believe I'm in the twilight zone. I can breeze through cv 1 and death is stupid easy to me, yet cv 3 I find virtually impossible past the first few stages

I've also been trying to beat the SNES Looney Toons games since I was a kid too. Except Porky Pig's game because it's not worth playing.

As I have been playing games in recent years, games have swapped off this list, as Ruudos has mentioned above. Here are some that have jumped lists. I used to be able to finish everything on the hard list.

Games That Are Now Hard For Me:
Robodemons
Kickmaster
Darkwing Duck
Power Blade
Solar Jetman
Disney's Adventures in the Magic Kingdom (could do everything but Space Mtn)
Captain Planet

Games That Are Now Doable For Me:
1943 (Damien and FM ftw)
Kickle Cubicle
Super C
Adventures of Lolo 1-3
Vice Project Doom
Xexyz
Gremlins 2
Toki
Metal Storm (well, I can get a lot farther now)

Space Mountain :D

I remember my brother used to have an incredible hard time with that level too. Trying to memorize everything and screwing up every time because he got nervous.

If you van beat the Mega Man games than Darkwing Duck and Power Blade shouldn't be a problem either.

Inspector gadget is easy as hell cobra triangle doesn't end it just endlessly loops getting!ore and more difficult. Virtual Bart is terrible but I love it especially the tomato throwing

Yeah, and the insane thing is I played Magic Kingdom recently AND I BEAT SPACE MOUNTAIN ON THE FIRST TRY WTF. Seriously, like no problem. I don't get it.

I beat all six MM games recently but holy shit, Darkwing Duck kicked my ass. Power Blade I can probably do but I just need to take it slower.
