My wife is not a gamer. At best she will play puzzle fighter with me or my daughter maybe 4-5 times a year. She grew up with a NES and says the only games she ever played were smb1 and pinbot. Out of her and my three kids, only my 5-year-old daughter seems interested in them above a cursory level.

My wife plays games but isn't much of a retro gamer and usually sticks to one or two she gets obsessed with. She was a huge City of Villains player and was really upset when that game shut down.

She's also a big Fallout fan. That one New Vegas DLC where you have to avoid all the gas and holograms made her break a 360 controller. Was funny/terrifying.

She hasn't been able to play much since the kid was born and she's bummed about it. I might get her a gaming laptop for Christmas so she can go back to therapeutically killing wastelanders.

My wife is a gamer. Just not as much of one as I am. :P

She's busy with school and two jobs at the moment so her free time is nil (and what she has she would rather not spend playing games). We play old NES/SNES/Genesis games on the Wii together once a week or so, though.

She used to play Left 4 Dead and other modern games, but since the 360 went into a kid's room that's dropped off quite a bit. :P

My wife isn't a hardcore gamer. She played Dragon Warrior 4 via emulation when she was a kid, but got fed up when her save file got deleted (I'm assuming her asshole brother did it, he's a downright spiteful piece of shit.) She'll play the odd smartphone game from time to time, like Letter Quest. Right now, she's actually further in Pokemon Go than I am, but to be fair, I don't get to play as much because of school clobbering my ass this semester.

I've tried to get her into gaming, but she really doesn't have the patience for most of the kind of games I play. When it comes to gaming, her and I have absolute opposite tastes; I prefer buttons and sticks, while she prefers touch controls or a stylus. Also, she's not as calm about games as I am, she can get to competitive for her own good. She gets why I game, it's just not her primary hobby, and really, I think it works out better. Her competitive nature would have us constantly playing a Street Fighter game daily until she becomes EVO level good, provided she could actually master a fighting stick... and that's a can of worms I don't want to open.

I met my wife on Digital Press - she was a game collector like I am. I miraculously swept her off her feet and that was that.

Over the years, she became less of a collector. She still does play games but her primary game is FFXIV. I played but it's basically all FFXIV and nothing else and I really wanted to play anything else. She does play other games, mostly stuff on portables these days.

My wife used to play older games when I had the collection. The most memorable ones I remember her playing and beating are Castlevania Bloodlines and Mike Tyson's Punch-Out. Now she is one of those Facebook game playing people and it drives me nuts haha
