Auctions are a guaranteed sell within the auction time you set, but at less 'potential' money. Buy it now requires a bit of patience, but you'll get 'current market value' if you wait it out. That's about the only difference. I guarantee someone will eventually buy your Power Blade at the price you set, but I can't tell you when. Even if you went with an action you definitely wouldn't get lowballed, but it likely would be at a lower price than a completed BIN auction.

I guess it can be summed up like this: a faster payout with less return or a delayed payout with greater return. That's essentially the difference between an auction and buy it now.

There is also a small chance you will get more than current rate out of an auction, but it's low and what strx said is more likely. Definitely stick to fixed price.

It took a couple weeks but Power Blade 2, plus 2 other games I had up on my shop all sold today. Now I'm scrambling for some bubble wrap...

Thanks for the advice guys!

Nicely done! Was it the same buyer or 3 separate transactions on the same day and did you accept best offers or were they sold for your asking prices?

Different transactions and different buyers. Did Buy It Now with offers. Sold Power Blade 2 for 20 bucks under my asking price. I've gotten plenty of offers, but this was the first one that wasn't trying to low ball me. The other games I sold Metal Slug X for the PS1 for 2 dollars under my asking price and this Dragon Ball game I had for the PS2 for the full 70 dollars.

Now this makes me a horrible game flipper but hell after all these years I feel like I'm entitled to a taste of it.

Don't feel bad. If I could sell a game to someone for an exorbitant price, crush all their fingers so they couldn't enjoy video games ever again, then resell that game to someone else I would do it every day for the rest of my life.
