WET NOSE

Ah, good ole' Mighty $8.98. I have it too and am not looking forward to playing it. I would get rid of it but I'd have to pay someone to take it off my hands. So I got a FDSstick and a RAM adapter and courtesy of Bratwurst, a NESRGB AV Famicom... so I loaded up FDS Zelda 1. Oh man, dat extra audio channel. It's going to be hard going back to NES Zelda. I played through the first quest like old times with no issues. Then I decided to play through the second quest and finish it for the first time, mostly completely blind. I knew some things either from what I watched of Damien playing through it (really just where the blue ring is sold) and scant factoids I picked up on scattered playthroughs over the years. It was a lot of fun but man, does it start off rough. You are best off saving up for the blue ring before you do anything. Once you get over the hump, it's challenging but not brutal. Wizzrobes can kiss my ass though and holy fuck, calm down with the red bubbles, Shiggy. I finished Secret of Evermore a week or two ago. It's a fun game. Definitely a technical turd like SoM but that's ok. If you like SoM and would like a Westernized SoM, it's a must play. Don't know what I am going to play next. I have a Famicom stack to run through but after that, no idea. Maybe a replay of Metroid Prime on the Cube. |

I got a backlit-modded gba and a few multicarts. Never in a million years thought I’d say this, but I’m actually enjoying final fantasy 6...this is the farthest I’ve gotten so far, about 7 hours in. Then again it’s in my nature to lose interest when these things get too story heavy so who knows Also got a nes game comp for the gba and yeah, it’s awesome. |

Luckily, FF6 ain't really that plot-heavy. The different characters all have unique abilities so it's pretty fun when you get them and get to mess around with new stuff. And being able to have anyone learn any spell thanks to the Esper system is neat as well. I really need to play this one again, haha. |

FF6 is a bit slower paced than some other 16 bit RPGs but it is an absolutely brilliant game. Probably my favorite JRPG. Years of reading game magazines obsessively completely spoiled the game before I even played it. If you're going in blind, try to keep it that way. It's really open ended in the second half of the game and you can break it wide open if you're clever. I think 16-bit RPGs really strike a good balance between the punishing, grindy 8-bit RPGs and the overwritten and boring RPGs found on the PS1 and beyond. I haven't been playing too much new. Still DBFZ and Mega Man Legacy Collection. I started playing Cookie Clicker again like some sort of sicko. It's something I can play while holding a newborn at least. |

DoaE rules. Secret best RPG on the NES. Anyway, I downloaded the arcade version of Bad Dudes for my Switch. Partly because I support the re-releasing of weird old arcade games and partly because I feel sorta guilty that I've barely touched my Switch since I got my PS4. |

bloodborne, probably the only From game worth replaying that isn't Armored Core or Metal Wolf Chaos. |

Beat Mega Man 4 on the Legacy Collection. Not a bad game at all but easily the worst of the original six games. The bosses are lame, weapons are nothing to write home about and the game is weirdly difficult. Probably the hardest across the entire series not counting the cheap glitchy shit in the original game. The bosses do more damage than you'd think and you're screwed if you run out of the weapon you need. The fortress bosses also send you to the mid point of the level instead of right outside their room when you die. Speaking of the fortresses, this is the first game in the series where you can't skip to the final fortress via password. So the best password only takes you about halfway through the game. In the era of save states, this isn't a huge deal but I remember hating it as a kid. |

beat Hylics, cannot recommend it enough. started Okami, one of the worst starts ever to a video game but I can easily see how it's the best traditional 3D Zelda game though that remains to be seen, pre ordered Darkest Dungeon and Yakuza 6 |

Still on my Mega Man kick. Beat 5 and 6 and just started 7. 5 is a big improvement over 4 IMO. Everything from the level design to the music has a bit more spark to it. Some of the weapons (like the Power Stone) are real lame and some of the bosses dp stupid amounts of damage, but I like it. 6 if anything, is underrated. The new Rush suits are a gimmick but they are actually a lot of fun to use. It's a lot easier than the past few games in the series - you can amass a ton of extra lives using the jet or power suits. At this point in my life I would consider that a positive. Started 7. A lot of people like this one, but it doesn't do much for me. The first few X games are great but I think Capcom went a little too far trying to differentiate this from the X series. The super bubbly graphics, cutesy music and hollow sound effects just really don't do it for me. And what's with Mega Man trying to turn into a cold blooded killer during the end? |

just got Battletech. it's fun as hell if you like XCOM-style games. Definitely makes you feel like a poor, destitute mechwarrior, though. |
